On a geological scale, it’s hardly anything special – an arbitrary point on a relative time scale, a prompt to mark that our planet has clocked yet another 940- million-kilometre trip around our sun, just one more to add to some 4.6 billion orbits, since, it is widely believed by scientists, Earth was formed.
