Phuket owners register two tons of ivory as crackdown deadline expires

PHUKET: Today (April 21) is the deadline for people to declare possession of elephant tusks or ivory, whether they are collectors or traders as part of a national drive to clamp down on the illegal trade in ivory so that Thailand can avoid possible embargoes on exports of other animal products.
