Phuket launches fishing boat checkpoint

PHUKET: The Phuket Fisheries Office today (April 1) launched a fishing boat checkpoint which is aimed at helping Thailand lift itself out of Tier 3 of the US State Department̕s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, and also to combat IUU – illegal, unreported and unregulated – fishing.
